BenQ AH700ST Here's everything you need to know before you buy.

The easiest golf simulator projector to set up. Period.

Short-Throw Behind the Golfer

A 0.69–0.83:1 throw ratio means the AH700ST mounts behind you — no shadows on the screen from your body, no risk of hitting the projector mid-swing. Positioned above and just behind the hitter for a completely clear swing path.

One-Button Auto Setup

Press one button and the AH700ST automatically detects your screen edges, adjusts image size, corrects keystone, and snaps into focus via the motorized lens — all in seconds. No manual calibration, no measuring, no frustration. The easiest projector setup in golf simulation.

4,000 Lumens · 95% Rec.709

Bright enough to deliver vivid, clear images in rooms that aren't fully blacked out. 95% Rec.709 color accuracy means greens look like greens, fairways look like fairways — tuned for course simulation, not home theater.

Golf Mode + Motorized Zoom

Dedicated Golf Mode fine-tunes color output for authentic grass, sand, and sky tones. The professional-grade motorized lens with 1.2x optical zoom lets you adjust your screen size without moving the projector — no reinstalling, no re-calibrating.

IP5X Dustproof · 20,000-Hour Laser

The sealed IP5X dustproof engine runs reliably from 32–104°F with no filter replacements needed. The laser light source is rated for 20,000 hours — no bulbs, no degradation, no maintenance costs for years of daily use in a garage or basement bay.

Auto Screen Fit — Any Screen

Auto Screen Fit detects your screen's aspect ratio — 16:9, 16:10, 4:3, or 1:1 — and fills it perfectly. And if your screen isn't a standard ratio? No problem — the AH700ST will auto-fill to whatever shape you have. No manual tweaking required.

How far back does it need to sit?

The AH700ST's short-throw ratio means it mounts behind the golfer at the rear of your bay. Throw distance is measured from the projector lens to the screen surface, based on screen height in 4:3 aspect ratio — the standard for golf simulator screens. PLEASE NOTE: this is the distance to the projector lens.

FAQ

For most home simulator setups, yes — 1080p at simulator screen distances looks excellent. The jump from 1080p to 4K is most noticeable up close on large monitors. On an impact screen 8–12 feet away in a bay environment, many golfers can't see a meaningful difference. If your PC isn't running a high-end GPU, 1080p also puts less strain on your system. If maximum sharpness is a priority and your PC can handle 4K output, step up to the AK700ST.
The AH700ST uses a built-in camera to detect the edges of your impact screen automatically. One press of the Auto Screen Fit button adjusts the image size, corrects keystone distortion, and snaps the motorized lens into focus — all without you touching another setting. Most setups are done in under 60 seconds. It's the biggest practical advantage the AH700ST has over the AK700ST.
Most standard projectors sit far in front of the screen — directly in your swing path. A short-throw projector like the AH700ST (0.69–0.83:1) mounts behind the golfer. No shadows on the screen, no risk of hitting it mid-swing. This is the single most important spec when choosing a golf simulator projector.
IP5X means the engine is sealed against dust ingress. For garage and basement bays — which can be dusty environments — this matters. Non-sealed projectors accumulate dust on internal optics over time, degrading image quality and eventually requiring professional cleaning. The AH700ST's sealed engine eliminates that issue entirely, with no filter replacements needed.
For a golf simulator, ceiling mounting is strongly recommended. It keeps the projector out of the swing path and creates a clean install. The AH700ST doesn't include a mount — text us at (770) 766-5571 or email support@golfsimdepot.com and we'll recommend the right mount for your bay.
BenQ products will most likely incur a 15% restocking fee. Please review our full return policy → before purchasing. If you have questions about whether this projector is right for your setup, reach out first — we'd rather help you choose correctly than deal with a return.
Call or text a Golf Sim Depot product expert at (770) 766-5571 or email support@golfsimdepot.com, Monday–Friday 9–5 EST. We can help confirm throw distance, mount type, and whether the AH700ST or AK700ST is the right call for your bay.
