MyGolfSpy's Best Launch Monitor Under $1,000 — Three Years Running.
The Rapsodo MLM2Pro is the most data-rich portable launch monitor under $1,000, and it keeps getting better. At $699.99, it combines Doppler radar with dual high-speed cameras to capture 15 metrics per shot — including directly measured spin rate, spin axis, club path, and angle of attack — delivering the kind of feedback that used to require launch monitors costing three to four times as much.
What sets the MLM2Pro apart isn't just what it shipped with — it's what it keeps becoming. Rapsodo has pushed meaningful firmware and app updates continuously since launch: GSPro native integration, directly measured Club Path and Angle of Attack (May 2025), new game modes, an expanded Target Range with 228 total targets, and more. Every MLM2Pro ever sold has gotten every one of these updates. That's the platform you're buying into.
Use it at the driving range, in your garage, in your simulator bay, or anywhere else you want to swing a club. It's portable, sets up in seconds, and connects to your phone or tablet over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Indoors or outdoors, the MLM2Pro goes where you go.

Latest Updates (2025–2026)
Rapsodo updates the MLM2Pro platform frequently. Here's what's been added since early 2025 — all delivered to existing hardware via app and firmware updates at no extra cost:
- May 2025: Directly measured Club Path and Angle of Attack added; new leveling tool for accurate club data alignment; Titleist PRO V1 RPT balls added as supported RPT ball option
- 2025: GSPro native integration launched; 30,000+ Rapsodo courses with fully enhanced graphics; junior tees on par 4 and 5 holes; 3D Range with Singapore-themed environment
- Late 2025: Closest to the Pin mode, Random Target practice mode launched
- February 2026: Scramble Mode and Best Ball Mode added; Target Range expanded to 228 total targets (14 new green targets, 8 fairways, 3 tee box options); Camera Offset feature for improved alignment accuracy
Space Requirements
- Minimum room depth: ~14.5 feet total (6.5 feet behind ball position + 8 feet of ball flight to screen or net)
- Recommended room depth: 15.5 feet or more for consistent tracking on all clubs including driver
- Ceiling height: Adequate clearance for your full swing with your longest club
- Device placement: Set on the included tripod, positioned behind and to the side of the ball; device sits higher than most competing units, which aids alignment
- Club data hitting zone: Club path and angle of attack require the ball and club to be within a defined hitting zone — the app's camera view guides placement; the zone is smaller than the ball flight zone, requiring consistent setup

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need special balls to use the MLM2Pro?
For most data — ball speed, carry distance, launch angle, club speed, smash factor, club path, and angle of attack — any standard golf ball works fine. For spin rate and spin axis, you need RPT-marked balls: either Callaway Chrome Soft X RPT or Titleist PRO V1 RPT. Three RPT balls are included. Without RPT balls, you still get 13 of 15 metrics; spin is the only data that requires them.
How does the MLM2Pro connect to GSPro?
The MLM2Pro connects to GSPro via the Rapsodo app on your phone or tablet, bridging shot data over your local network to GSPro running on a Windows PC. An active Rapsodo Premium subscription is required for GSPro access. You'll also need a separate GSPro subscription — both are needed to play.
Is club path and angle of attack actually measured, or is it calculated?
Directly measured using a combination of the onboard cameras and radar — not an algorithm estimate. Rapsodo published a validation study against the Foresight GCQuad across 1,021 shots, showing agreement within approximately 1.4° MAE. Independent reviewers testing against the Foresight GC3 found results within 0.5° on iron and wedge shots, and within 1° on driver. That's legitimately accurate for the price.
What's the minimum space I need indoors?
Approximately 14.5 feet of total room depth — 6.5 feet behind ball position to the device, plus at least 8 feet of ball flight before the net or screen. 15.5 feet or more is recommended for consistent tracking on all clubs. If you're close to this limit, contact us with your exact dimensions and we'll advise before you buy.
What's the difference between the free version and Premium?
Without Premium, you get basic ball flight data (ball speed, carry, launch angle) — enough to use as a range tool. Premium unlocks spin tracking, club path, angle of attack, simulation courses, GSPro/E6/Awesome Golf access, video storage, Combine, Target Range, and all game modes. The 45-day trial lets you use the full Premium feature set before committing to a subscription.
Can I use this outdoors?
Yes — the MLM2Pro is one of the few launch monitors at this price that works both indoors and outdoors. It requires clear weather; rain and wet conditions are not supported. Outdoor use is ideal for the driving range, backyard, or any open space.
Does it work for left-handed golfers?
Yes — the MLM2Pro supports both right- and left-handed golfers. Select your handedness in the app before your session.
How does battery life affect a simulator session?
At approximately 4 hours per charge, battery life is shorter than some competitors like the Garmin R10 (which runs ~10 hours). For longer simulator sessions, keep a USB-C power bank or cable nearby. The device charges via standard USB-C, so any compatible charger works.
Can my whole family use it?
Yes — junior tees are available on par 4 and 5 holes within Rapsodo Courses, team modes including Scramble and Best Ball support group play, and the device works for golfers of all skill levels. It's one of the more family-friendly platforms in this category.
How often does Rapsodo update the MLM2Pro?
Frequently. The platform has received dozens of meaningful updates since launch — new metrics, new game modes, third-party integrations, improved accuracy, UI enhancements. All updates are delivered via the app and firmware at no additional cost to any MLM2Pro owner. This is one of the strongest arguments for buying into the Rapsodo platform.
Choose options

The best portable launch monitor under $1,000. And it keeps getting better.
Three tracking technologies working together: Doppler radar for ball data, an Impact Vision camera at 240 FPS for club contact detail, and a Shot Vision camera for full swing replay with ball tracer overlay. Add your phone as a third angle. This level of visual feedback simply doesn't exist at this price anywhere else.
As of the May 2025 update, Club Path and Angle of Attack are directly measured by the MLM2Pro's radar and camera system — not estimated from ball flight. These are two of the most important swing diagnostics available. Getting them directly measured at $699 is a big deal.
Fits in your golf bag. Connects to your phone in seconds. Works indoors in a simulator bay or outdoors on the range. Setup takes under a minute — align, hit, review. The same device you use for practice at home is the one you bring to the range to work with your instructor.
Play more than 30,000 Rapsodo courses with a Premium membership, or connect to GSPro and E6 for a full home simulator experience. Scramble Mode, Best Ball, and Target Range (228 target options) added in 2026. This is a full-featured simulator platform — not just a data device.
When paired with Callaway RPT or Titleist PRO V1 RPT balls, spin rate and spin axis accuracy comes within 1% of Trackman-level systems. Independent testing confirmed carry distance differences under 2 yards vs Trackman for wedges and irons. The RPT ball partnership is what makes this possible at this price point.
Rapsodo has added measured Club Path, Angle of Attack, Titleist RPT ball support, GSPro integration, enhanced courses, new game modes, alignment tools, and more — all as free updates to existing units. The MLM2Pro you buy today will be more capable next year without spending another dollar.
