BenQ LK936ST Here's everything you need to know before you buy.

BenQ's flagship. More lumens. More flexibility. No compromises.

5,100 Lumens — Lights On, No Problem

1,100 lumens brighter than any other BenQ golf simulator projector. If your bay has windows, overhead lights you can't fully kill, or you're building a commercial space where the lights stay on — this is the projector that handles it without washing out the image.

Lens Shift — Mount It Anywhere

The LK936ST shifts the image up to 60% vertically and 23% horizontally without touching the projector. If ceiling obstructions, beams, or room geometry prevent a perfectly centered mount, lens shift moves the image to fill your screen without digital keystone softening. A feature no other BenQ golf projector offers.

True 4K UHD · Golf Mode Color

3840×2160 with 8.3 million pixels and 92% Rec.709 color accuracy. Golf Mode corrects color fringing specifically for course simulation — accurate greens, true-to-life blues, no purple fringing that cheaper projectors show in golf software.

HDBaseT — Single Cable Up to 100m

Run 4K video, audio, RS-232, and LAN control through a single RJ-45 cable up to 328 feet. For permanent installs in garages, basements, or commercial bays where running multiple cables is impractical, HDBaseT makes the wiring clean and simple.

eARC — 7.1 Surround Sound

Connect a compatible soundbar or AV receiver via eARC for immersive surround sound — one cable handles video and audio together. When you're done golfing, it doubles as a premium home theater projector.

IP5X Sealed · 20,000-Hour Laser

IP5X dustproof sealed engine runs reliably from 32–104°F with no filter replacements. The laser light source is rated for 20,000 hours — years of daily use with no maintenance, no bulb costs, no degradation in brightness or color.

How far back does it need to sit?

The LK936ST mounts behind the golfer at the rear of your bay. Throw distance is measured from the projector lens to the screen surface based on screen height in 4:3 aspect ratio — the standard for golf simulator screens. PLEASE NOTE: this is the distance to the projector lens. The projector body extends further back from the lens.

FAQ

The LK936ST is BenQ's flagship and steps up from the AK700ST in three meaningful ways: 5,100 lumens vs 4,000 (better for bright rooms and larger screens), lens shift (H±23% / V±60%) that lets you mount off-center without distortion, and HDBaseT for clean single-cable runs up to 100m. The throw ratio is slightly longer (0.81–0.89 vs 0.69–0.83), so it needs a bit more depth behind the screen. If your bay is a standard home setup with controlled lighting, the AK700ST is excellent. If you have a brighter room, a commercial bay, or want the cleanest possible permanent install, the LK936ST is the right call.
Lens shift moves the projected image up, down, left, or right optically — without tilting the projector and without using digital keystone correction. This matters because digital keystone softens the image (it's essentially distorting pixels to compensate for angle). Lens shift keeps the image razor sharp regardless of where the projector is mounted. If your ceiling has a beam, duct, or obstruction that prevents a perfectly centered mount, lens shift means you can still get a perfect image. The LK936ST shifts ±60% vertically and ±23% horizontally — no other BenQ golf projector offers this.
HDBaseT lets you transmit 4K video, audio, RS-232 control, and LAN all over a single standard RJ-45 (ethernet) cable up to 100 meters. For most home setups, HDMI works fine. HDBaseT becomes valuable when your PC is far from the projector, you're running cables through walls or conduit, or you're building a commercial bay where cable management matters. You'll need a compatible HDBaseT transmitter on the PC end — sold separately.
Most standard projectors sit far in front of the screen — directly in your swing path. A short-throw projector like the LK936ST (0.81–0.89:1) mounts behind the golfer. No shadows on the screen, no risk of hitting it mid-swing. This is the single most important spec when choosing a golf simulator projector.
For a fully darkened home bay, 4,000 lumens is plenty — and the AK700ST or AH700ST will serve you well. 5,100 lumens earns its premium when: your room has windows or ambient light you can't fully control, you're running a commercial space with overhead lighting, or your screen is especially large (10ft+ tall). The extra brightness also gives you more headroom to use Eco mode and extend lamp life even further.
BenQ products will most likely incur a 15% restocking fee. Please review our full return policy → before purchasing. If you have questions about whether this projector is right for your setup, reach out first — we'd rather help you choose correctly than deal with a return.
